Detroit Tigers

The Detroit Tigers are Michigan's Major League Baseball team. They play in the American League's Central Division. The Tigers play their home games at Comerica Park.

The Tigers have the distinction of being one of the American League's charter franchises, as they have been playing in the AL since its inception in 1901. As of the conclusion of the 2009 season, the Tigers have won four World Series championships (1935, 1945, 1968, 1984), ten league championships (1907-09, 1934-5, 1940, 1945, 1968, 1984, 2006), and have made two other postseason appearances (1972, 1987).
